Can the newborn insert be washed and put in the dryer? I did not see any washing instructions on the tag. Thank you

Yes! The 4moms newborn insert can be placed in your washing machine on a cold water, gentle cycle. To dry, place it in your dryer on a low heat setting or drip dry.

I have a classic infant seat (I know that seat is discontinued), but do I need the newborn insert for that seat?

Great question! No, the mamaRoo, any version and model, can be used without a newborn insert from birth with your little one. If you choose to purchase a newborn insert separately, it does provide your little one extra support and comfort in the first few months.

Is the newborn insert made in US, free of chemicals or atleast have some Oeko Tex/GOTS certifications with the fabric?

Can this be used on older versions of the mamaRoo?  I have one from 2014 and neither of my previous babies really liked it, but I want to try it again for my third and think the reason was that it was lacking something like this.

Yes! The 4moms newborn insert can be used with any model of the mamaRoo, as well as the 4moms rockaRoo.

Can I use the mamaroo for a newborn without the newborn insert? Or do I need this in order to use?

Yes! The mamaRoo can be used from birth. The newborn insert can be purchased separate from the 4moms mamaRoo. If you choose to use the newborn insert it does provide extra support for the baby. It is designed to give babies the swaddling feeling that some newborns prefer. There is no age or size limit for use, so it can be used from birth until the baby no longer prefers it.

There is no age or size limit for use, so the newborn insert can be used from birth until the baby no longer prefers it.The mamaRoo infant seat is designed for use from birth until your little one reaches maximum weight limit of 25 pounds or can sit up unassisted or attempts to climb out, whichever comes first.

Are there instructions on how to set this up properly? I purchased one and am struggling to figure out how the 2 slits on the top work with my car seat.

The 4moms cool mesh newborn insert is not compatible with car seats, but rather the mamaRoo and rockaRoo seats.
