Is the MamaRoo Sleep Bassinet affected by this recall?
No, the MamaRoo Sleep Bassinet is not included in this recall.
Why are you conducting this recall?
When the swing or rocker is not in use, the restraint straps can dangle below the seat and crawling infants can become entangled in the straps, posing a strangulation hazard. We are aware of two incidents in which an infant became caught in the straps of the MamaRoo swing, including one fatal incident. No incidents involving the RockaRoo have been reported. For this reason, we are encouraging all owners of the recalled MamaRoo and RockaRoo models to participate in this recall and request a strap fastener that will prevent the straps from dangling under the swing/rocker when not in use.
Are stores still selling the affected MamaRoo and/or RockaRoos?
4moms has asked our retail partners to remove all recalled products from their store shelves. Retailers should only be selling the NEW MamaRoo Multi-Motion Baby Swing that has a 5-point harness (model 1046), which is not included in this voluntary recall.
